What is Sign Compatibility?

Sign - as in "What's my sign?" - is a word the average reader of horoscope columns thinks is a "label" for a stereotype applied to him because he was born in a certain one-month time period. Each Sign has a set of typical traits common to people born with the Sun in that Sign.

Sign Compatibility is the degree to which two zodiac signs have qualities which are similar enough to create a comfortable relationship. If "comfort" is desired, it's more easily achieved with "similar" Signs; yet one should be aware that the "differences" add interest and excitement and the best opportunity for personal growth.

You are most "comfortable" with your own Sign and the other two in your Element (listed on next page). These Signs are most "similar" in that they share several traits and strategies for living. Friendships are easily made and maintained. These matches are "easy" - but not as "interesting" or "exciting" as the less similar Signs in the next paragraph.

You are also very "compatible" with any Sign in the Element compatible with your own Element. FIRE is best with AIR and EARTH is best with WATER.  See "What Are Compatible Signs?"
